Peter
Horan is
one f Australia’s top piano and keyboard players, famous for
the energy of his live performances, his unique piano style and versatility.
Over the years, he has established an enviable reputation and nation
wide following.
Peter’s
interest in the piano began when he was given a toy “Grand”
at the age of 2, and then his first “real” upright piano when
he was 6. Soon afterwards, he began having lessons, and continued on to
be classically trained by the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Now a full
time musician, this brilliant pianist is also a very successful song-writer
and entertainer.
Peter
receives airplay all around Australia, support also extending to New Zealand
and Stations overseas. He plays a wide range of classic piano pieces and
all time favourites.
He
had enormous success with his own composition, “Goanna”, which
became almost a ‘household name’, following the many accolades
from Radio Broadcaster John Laws, and it has also become Peter’s
signature tune.
As
an independent, self funded artist, the sales of Peter’s albums
have exceeded all expectations. He records all albums at his home in Bathurst
N.S.W., and his 9th C.D., “The Christmas Album”, will be released
later this year.
Peter
has had the opportunity to travel most of Australia and N.Z., his “Concert
Style” performances proving so successful, that many venues are
booked out weeks ahead. Despite his busy schedule, he always manages to
catch up with his many fans, both old and new, some driving long distances
to hear him play piano favourites, from classical to country, and everything
in between.
Always
a very popular performer at Festivals, Peter has won many awards. Over
the past few years, in addition to his guest appearances, he has had his
own concerts at these Festivals, playing to packed audiences who love
his special kind of music.
In
addition to being nominated for several Golden Guitar Awards, Peter was
also inducted into the “Country Music Hands of Fame” in 2002
at Tamworth, and in 2003, won “Instrumental Act”, in “Queensland’s
Entertainer of the Year Award”.
Peter
keeps in contact with his fans, by sending out newsletters twice a year.
These are very popular, so just contact him if you’d like your name
added to the mailing list. With the exception of a very few outlets, the
albums are only available at his performances, or direct from Peter at
the above address. All are priced at $25, which includes postage. (Click
